Abstract: Soil moisture monitoring at field scale is discussed in this paper. The characteristics of space and time-dynamic variance of soil moisture are analyzed on the base of in situ data,and accordingly,the rational sampling number of soil moisture monitoring can be determined. This study is aimed at improving the level of water-saving irrigation and field water use mamagement.
