Abstract: Based on recent development of gas-solid two phase flows,a necessary condition for suspended particle enhancing turbulence in open channel flows was derived,which incorporates with the standard for distinguishing suspended load and bed load.The analysis result is in good agreement with exist ing experimental evidences.
