Study on the hydraulic reaction of unsteady flows in open channel

  • Water levels in open channel fluctuate along with the change of the discharge. The change from one state of steady flow to another will take a period of time. The process of the change is affected by the characteristic of canal structure,the canal operation method,the range of discharge change and the rate of it. The hydraulic reaction of unsteady flow is also studied by means of numerical simulation of the unsteady flows in open channel in different cases.
